Alvaro G.Velilla

Senior executive, strategist, and entrepreneur, Alvaro G. Velilla has spent over two decades at the forefront of the global music and technology industries. His career spans streaming platforms, licensing, business development, record labels, artist teams, and strategic partnerships — always at the intersection where culture meets innovation.

Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President at Universal Music Group in Santa Monica, California, where he built and led the company's gaming vertical from the ground up. Under his leadership, UMG forged landmark partnerships with some of the most influential platforms in interactive entertainment, positioning the company at the center of the convergence between music, gaming, superfan experiences, and emerging technologies.

Prior to UMG, Alvaro held senior roles at SoundCloud, where he built strategic partnerships with Dolby, Amazon, DeepMind, and Microsoft. Before that, he founded Pulselocker (acquired by Beatport), the first music streaming platform built specifically for DJs, where he led the company from inception through product development and industry partnerships. Earlier in his career, he managed Pacha Recordings for the Pacha Group out of Ibiza, and ran his own imprint in Spain — becoming a reference figure in the European electronic music scene.

Born in the Basque Region of Spain and based in Los Angeles, his work combines European cultural sensibility with California's forward-thinking innovation mindset.
